Instructions for using the telephone system:

We want you to have as little trouble as possible when using our telephone system so please read the following carefully

The times the phones are active are as follows;

It is most important that you choose the correct option when you ring in. There are five options BUT ONLY THREE FOR PATIENTS' USE.

OPTION 1 - Test results and general queries
Our priority, during the early part of the morning, is to patients needing appointments so we ask you to choose Option 1 between 11am and 1pm or between 3pm and 6pm if you want results of a recent test or need to make a general enquiry.

OPTION 2 - To cancel an appointment
If you have a previously booked appointment which you no longer need or find you cannot keep, we ask you to choose Option 2. You can access this line by using this option as long as our telephone lines are open. We also have a dedicated cancellation line which is open 24 hours. The number for this line is 020 8291 8503.

OPTION 3 - To make an appointment or request a home visit
When you need to make an appointment we suggest that you ring in from 8:30am or as near to this time as possible and press Option 3. The receptionists answering calls on this option CAN NOT DEAL WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN REQUESTS FOR APPOINTMENTS OR HOME VISITS.

OPTION 4 & 5 - We ask that you DO NOT choose either of these options as they are NON-PATIENT options for hospitals, district nurses, and other health workers, solicitors and insurance companies etc.

You will not get through to the surgery reception by pressing either of these two options and your call, no matter how urgent, will not be dealt with.

If you do not select an option after listening to the options twice your call will, unfortunately, be cut off.

If you ring the surgery number 020 8699 2840 when we are closed you will hear various options and telephone numbers so please have a pen and paper ready.
